UWA ELITE POWER RANKINGS (SEPT 2017)

SINGLES RANKINGS

#1 - ARCHADIA (LAST MONTH: #1)
UWA Elite Champion

Towards the end of a grueling UWA Elite Championship defense against King Tek, the challenger looked Archadia dead in the eyes and said, "You don't deserve to be champion" (paraphrasing). As much as King Tek is a respected leader of the UWA Elite Army, he was dead wrong. Two massive piledrivers later, Archadia vanquished the Fighting King to retain his UWA Elite Championship. One has to wonder - is there any competition left? One man thinks so...

#2 - BOWES (LAST MONTH: #3)
UWA Elite Iron Man Champion

The Iron Man Champion is not liked. He is not beloved. But man, is he feared. "The Wretched" Bowes added a very significant name to his trenchcoat at Combat Cup in the form of Joe Gacy. Bowes has become the definition of the modern Iron Man Championship, and has arguably been the most dominant of all champions this season. But does The Wretched match up with Archadia? We'll get that answer at Brawl For it All in October.

#3 - MAGIC (LAST MONTH: #8)
UWA Elite iChampion

In the span of 3 minutes, a nightmare became a dream for the legendary Magic. After seemingly being cheated out of the iChampionship and forced to retire by Nicholas Kaye, a decision by referees and management to restart the match led to a huge splash, a Magic Trick, and a pinfall victory. The celebration that followed was as loud as any ovation in recent UWA Elite memory. The best part? Nobody can say that the new iChampion didn't earn it.

#4 - KYLE "THE BEAST" WINANT  (LAST MONTH: #5)

Sure, KTB might not be the UWA Elite Champion. But beating Domonic Truex and winning $1,000 is a heck of a consolation prize. In a gargantuan battle, Kyle the Beast defeated "The Duke" in Truex's All-In Challenge to claim victory and $1,000 of Domonic's money. With a massive victory in his rear-view mirror, KTB can now turn to his last chance at a #1 Contendership in 2017 - winning the Brawl For it All match this October.

#5 - DRAKE CHAMBERS (LAST MONTH: #9)

Well, it wasn't comfortable, and it wasn't popular, but the Dragonborn absolutely decimated Brandon the Bull at Combat Cup. In his assault on the Bull's injured ankle, Chambers showcased a new sense of focus and a great deal of malice. The UWA Elite Army was taken aback by Drake's vicious attack, but also his pre-match declaration that he was "only doing things for himself". Another high-stakes matchup with Brandon the Bull awaits in October.

#6 - JOEY ADAMS (LAST MONTH: NR)

Lost in the chaos of Brandon Kirk's shocking turn on Robbie Roller was a massive victory for The Anti-Hero. Joey Adams won a fatal four-way contest to earn the right to enter the 30-man Brawl For it All battle royal at #30, giving him a massive advantage over the rest of the field. With the fates of foes like KTB, Brandon the Bull, Drake Chambers, Bowes, King Tek and the rest of the UWA Elite roster still unclear, is the #1 contendership to the UWA Elite Championship Joey Adams' to lose?

#7 - BRANDON THE BULL (LAST MONTH: #6)

The last two months of Brandon the Bull's career have clearly been the worst he has faced as a professional wrestler. This, after a 2-month reign as UWA Elite Champion had him on top of the world. Now, he faces Drake Chambers with a severely injured ankle, with his place in Brawl For it All in jeopardy. October's Brawl For it All supercard will be a true "boom or bust" for the Bull.

#8 - KING TEK (LAST MONTH: #2)

The Fighting King has had a year of major accomplishments - namely, being the longest reigning iChampion in history and the first-ever Mike Davis Memorial Tournament winner. But that momentum wasn't quite enough to bring King Tek to the promised land, as he fell short in his quest to defeat longtime rival Archadia for the UWA Elite Championship. Still, King Tek will have one more shot at the throne if he wins the Brawl For it All battle royal match in October.

#9 - CHRISTOPHER POWERS (LAST MONTH: NR)

Don't look now, but the Hollywood Stuntman is on a bit of a roll. Powers was the sole survivor of a 4-on-4 elimination tag match at Combat Cup. Pair that with a semi-final appearance in Crossroads and a victory at iWrestle, and suddenly Christopher Powers is one of the hottest wrestlers on the UWA Elite roster. Will Powers shock us yet again at Brawl For it All?

#10 - NICHOLAS KAYE (LAST MONTH: #4)

Nicholas Kaye's nefarious tactics finally caught up to him at Combat Cup, where he lost his iChampionship in stunning fashion to Magic. After attempting to cheat his way to victory (and looking like he succeeded), the match was re-started and Kaye was left looking up at the lights. The "Professional Professional Wrestler" will have his rematch at Brawl For it All in October.

TAG TEAM RANKINGS

#1 - THE DESTINED ONES (LAST MONTH: #4)
2017 Tag Team Combat Cup Winners

In the most stunning turn of events in UWA Elite tag team history, the Destined Ones defeated the two most vaunted tag teams on the current roster to claim the 2017 Combat Cup in September. A shocking semi-final victory against the much larger Designated Hitters was one thing. But then, finding a way to avoid defeat at the hands of BOTH the BROtein Pack's finishing maneuvers and claim victory over the tag champs and reigning Combat Cup holders? It might be time to believe in destiny.

#2 - THE BROTEIN PACK (LAST MONTH: #1)
UWA Elite Tag Team Champions

Does the BROtein Pack need  to defend their Tag Team Championships to be effective? The champs haven't lost a tag title match since August 2016 - but in 2017, their record in non-title matches on supercards is just 1-2. After defeating Team Thomas in the semi-finals, the BROs Till Forever were stunned by Jordan Oliver & Kid Christian in the finals. The BROtein Pack offered D1 a title shot in October. The question is - did C-Way and Blade lose not just the Combat Cup, but their edge?

#3 - THE DESIGNATED HITTERS (LAST MONTH: #2)

Like them or not, there has been a legitimate excuse for virtually every match DH has lost in 2017. Whether it was a partner's betrayal, a major distraction, a huge cut to Hedges' head, or a fluke pinfall, Hedges & Dillinger seem to have a valid excuse for losing the matches they've lost. But as the season winds down and DH has not claimed tag team gold, when do "valid excuses" simply start to become "just a bunch of excuses"?

#4 - TEAM THOMAS (LAST MONTH: #3)

We didn't have any particular reason to rank the Designated Hitters above Team Thomas this month. Both teams put on strong showings in defeat in the semi-finals of the 2017 Combat Cup. Both teams looked to be moments away from advancing to the finals on more than one occasion. So why rank DH above Team Thomas here? Who cares what our reason is - we all know that every month Team Thomas isn't #1, Miles Thomas is going to blame us for a "liberal media bias" anyway.
